limonite IS a yellow colour, but when it is with quartz it turns the quartz a reddish colour.....just like the ones on your pictures.

also remembered that iron will show as that also.

what did your seller tell you about the inclusion in the quartz that gives it the colour?

Well, I'm still not sure what makes this piece of quartz so special. I am a gemmologist/goldsmith and have worked with stones for 20 years or so. I have to admit that this thread has made me uncomfortable from the start since as far as I am concerned it was about "emotional" selling. By that I mean that you were creating desire for this piece by playing on peoples' emotions.
