The Crystal Arcana

Cerulean

Thanks for the Yeats quote...this is more what I see

....
Every discoloration of the stone,
Every accidental crack or dent,
Seems a water-course or an avalanche,
Or lofty slope where it still snows
Though doubtless plum or cherry-branch...

Best wishes and thanks,

Cerulean

I'm beginning to see this old, old stone as an earthly emperor.
Lapis Lazuli

Lapis lazuli has been mined for centuries from a locality still in use today in the remote mountain valley of Kokcha, Afghanistan. First mined 6,000 years ago, the rock was transported to Egypt and what is now Iraq and later to Europe, where it was used in jewelry and for ornamental stone. Europeans ground the rock into an expensive pigment for paints called "ultramarine." Although now not the only source of lapis, Afghanistan still produces the finest. The names comes from the Persian lazuward, meaning "blue." The Arab Istakhri, in the 10th century, was the first geographer to record a visit to a lapis mine in Afghanistan.

Amethyst Le Pape

The name amethyst derives from the Greek root amethystos,
"not intoxicated," which some speculate expresses the ancient
folk belief that the stone protects its owner against drunkenness.
More likely, the ancient Greeks were probably referring to the
wine-like colour of some amethyst stones.

Peridot

Also known in Hawaii as the Hawaiian Diamond. Found on volcanic islands such as Hawaii and Lanzarote and is formed in lava rock.

Also very beautiful and Moonbow* loves it! :)

We still have 11 Openings... care to make a match? :)

Moonbow

Ok :)

Moonstone for ... La lune of course

Some say it is the stone of intuition and feminine wisdom. It has shades varying from white to irridescent to pale cream (my favourite) and because of it's different colours and shades aptly applies to the Moon and its different phases. It's has, and is still used in rituals involving love. :)

Is that link really Peridot?

I have never seen it that colour before.

The Micro Magnet stone images are from photomicrographs,
photographs taken with a microscope.

They photographed the surface of impure and uncut stones,
while with other crystallites formed from dissolved minerals.

The Micro Magnet photos look like modern art paintings.
Other images are from those looking uniquely dramatic,
but not like the great multi-coloured microscope pictures.

Moonbow

Thank you Fulgour, I see that now

They do look like modern art, as you say. I particularly like the Saphire.

I have been thinking about Judgement, which I see as following or seeking a spiritual path. Perhaps Selenite would be a good choice. It's known as a stone of record keeping and psychic development and can be used for past life regression. In reiki, it is used for the crown chakra or third eye.

What do think?

Selenite

Gypsum comes in many forms, found mostly in rock form.
Very fine-grained rock gypsum is called alabaster and is used
for sculpting. The crystal form is called selenite.

It is pure white but shows up this internal hourglass
