the stock market

SirRushing

what card would represent the stock market itself? I was thinking maybe 10 pentacles, but I see banks being 10 pentacles after long years of people investing in it where it holds lots of money. While 4 pentacles is about an individual, but not an institution saving/conserving money.

Since stock markets is about gambling and taking risks, I don't see risk taking card in regards to pentacles.

I would think of 6oP, as having to do with exchanges. Also, probably Wheel of Fortune as a "gambling" card.

If you see the stock market as a distinct, if collective, personality, then you might have:

Wheel of Fortune + Knight of Pentacles: bear market
Wheel of Fortune + Knight of Wands: bull market - or the stock market-as-casino

for some reason I also see the Wheel of Fortune + 7 of Cups as speculation on non-susbtantial assets.

Oh, I like that! The two together would say Stock-Market to me.

I can see these cards (6 Pents & WOF) as for the stock exchange itself... the harder one is finding some cards that are as bipolar, paranoid, over reactive and knee jerky as the investors.

I see the stock market more along the lines of the 5 of Wands. It's competitive and riddled with conflict at all times, both from a broad perspective and a literal one on the trading floor...but ultimately, no matter how seriously the participants take it, it's ultimately a man-made system - a game - with no intrinsic meaning or existence beyond what we agree to place on it.

I'd also argue that, at times, there's a great deal more Wands energy (bull market) than Pentacles energy (bear market). The participants also take on a measure of risk, sometimes very large risks, that are much more Wandslike than Pentacleslike.

The 4 of Pents seems like an apt candidate to represent the investors at this time.

I reckon the vast majority of investors can be represented by the RWS Five of Wands. Talk about unresolved conflict! :)

Humm..I wonder if their are investment advisors out there who throw tarot spreads for their clients?

I've heard of financial astrologers doing charts on the stock market for clients thinking of investing, but not tarot readers.

Maybe somebody on here knows.

I used to work in the financial sector, and it never even occurred to me to do so.

In the unlikely event I'm ever in the industry again, I might make a point to try it out.
