Detecting Untrustworthy People

Padma

I'm sure you have some tips/experiences to share though, right? Not with terrorists, but wrongdoers/untrustworthy folks.

Mostly I just follow my gut - if it twinges on me, I usually listen. The times I haven't, I have certainly regretted it!

If someone shows you their true colours, believe them.

We tend to make excuses for people's bad behaviour, or even downright ignore our own judgement or perceptions!

That is great advice, Think :) What you say is true. I have also heard that people will tell you exactly who and what they are in the first 20 minutes you meet them - so it pays to listen well.

prudence

Yes, I would think good looking people have a much easier time getting their way or deceiving others with little effort because so many people are willing to attach their fantasies to a good looking person and ignore reality.

Yep, think Jeffry Dahmer or Ted Bundy.

I'm another go with your gut person, if I feel a twinge or butterflies in my solar plexus, I know something is wrong

Most serial killers, if not all, never usually alter the course to kill you once you are in their grasp.

Not all use deception though.

However, if you research those that are very well known, on the most part those ones did and over and over again because they knew it worked.

Bundy with the pretense of broken arms and Dahmer with the lure of money for photos etc.

The Teddy Bear (think that is right) killer looked like a harmless gentle giant offering rides. His last victim was only let go because she was the spitting image of his very first victim.

The Pennsylvania serial killer going back decades (partially featured in Silence of the lambs I believe) deliberately targeted girls with disabilities or if they went missing - no waves. Eg Hookers.

Only one survived in the hell pit hole he imprisoned them in for the purpose of producing whatever sick fantasy he had in his head. They were slaves, dehumanised, and possibly breeding stock I think.

Sometimes people cannot be read - and by the time their true nature comes out it is farrrrrr too late.

Israel Keyes would have to be one of the most fascinating serial killers, to me, as he had his own serial killing kits buried in different locations throughout the USA and some times for up to about 3 years untouched. Organised and meticulous to a fault even in his day job as a Carpenter. His victims were absolutely random and both male and female - his only rule was no children.

Then there is the "Counterfeit Serial Killer" that likely killed over 200 women and was only found out through being busted for counterfeiting. He had an IQ of 160 and became bored with serial killing, so was counterfeiting on the side.

Now for him to have got away with so many murders over many years makes me wonder about the level of deception he used to do it and cover his tracks from the law.

I would like to know more about what made him tick etc and why the FBI failed all those girls and their families by not putting some kind of pattern together.

One girl being dragged into a car and not seen by a witness is plausible, but at least once it was possibly two at the same time. Was hitch hiking involved or pulling a gun on them?

As far as I know he has never talked about it.

Foolproof method unfortunately no.
I will say instinct (with observation) is the best judge, but my instinct isn't foolproof, some people are very good to hid their thoughts.
I think I have read somewhere that the Devil can take whichever form he likes.

I have a full proof one...

Have a good relationship with your guides!

They have never ever let me down. It's not even me asking them anything. They just give me warnings through dreams/ visions/ *strong* gut feeling. I can hear them too. They don't let go until I get the message either!

Always, without a fail!

Mostly I just follow my gut - if it twinges on me, I usually listen. The times I haven't, I have certainly regretted it!

I didn't read every post, but these 3 that I did read I think are very accurate with what can help.

I have/had a person in my family who is really awful to me for some unknown reason. Always was. (jealousy? perhaps). I couldn't stand to be around her as a result. She just isn't very nice to me. But, sadly, when I would go back home to visit--she would of course be there. She's family after all. But, I will tell you--whenever a visit to home was coming up, I'd get ill. My stomach would be totally upset and I'd have heartburn and headaches. Coming home after the visit was pretty much just as bad--but really heavy on the headaches and heart aches.

so, my advice is that if you feel any kind of upset around a person, pay attention to those feelings and if possible LIMIT your exposure to them!

Pay close attention to your gut feelings, as Padma mentioned. They rarely are wrong!

Then there is the simplest test of all:

Q: How do you know someone is lying?

A: Their lips are moving.
