As little packaging as possible should be the rule. Most things are so overly packaged these days that it becomes jarring, every new package you open always has mountains of plastic beside it at the end. Suppose you order a package, you have the shipping carton, a layer of bubble wrap, another envelope sometimes with an additional layer of bubble wrap, the deck's box, cellophane, sometimes "special" things that may or may not themselves end up in the trash ("special edition" fold-out, horribly bulky boxes sometimes) and finally... the deck you ordered. Plus, some packaging materials are mixed, as in bubble wrap or aluminum foil stuck to cardboard or paper envelopes, so they can't be recycled!
So much packaging for something so small. Although I don't see an alternative, it still breaks my heart. Reminds me of the grocery store across the street where, no matter what I buy, they automatically put it in a plastic bag. I usually tell them I don't need one, especially if I'm just crossing the street to get a carton of milk I can very well carry in my hand (gasp! actually touch a carton of milk!). Still, next time I go there, same story all over.
