Anyone Doing READINGS for themselves on Halloween?

And, if so, which deck will you choose?

And, if so, which deck will you choose?

I'll be doing my annual, 12 month/12 card reading this year... have nooooo idea how I'll choose a deck though. For the last 10 years I've only had a couple decks but this time around I seem to have acquired, ahem, 50.

The frontrunners would probably be: sticking with tradition and using the Druidcraft, obvious favourite the Halloween Tarot or possibly the Tarot of Vampyres (so darn gorgeous in a big spread).

Might have to do some extra readings on the day, just so I can use more of my pretties :D

I will be..in a manner of speaking. Samhain is on Nov. 7th this year, and I'll certainly be doing a year's spread. It is going to be an eventful year for me...I think.

There are 13 moons per year, so I'll establish a "card" for each moon - and then do short reading for each of them. I'll most likely use the 1st Edition Samhain Deck of the Bastard for what's going on "around" me, and The Wild Unknown for what's going on "within" me.

Yes. Deck not yet chosen :)
Possible decks are: Barbara G. Walker,

Tarot of the Night,

Bohemian Gothic (if it's arrived by then)

or Halloween Tarot.

Will depend on the mood when I get there.
Type of spread not finalised either. Presently, it looks like I'll do a 4 directions spell/spread for insight - with a
crystal skull at each quarter - so the cards will be "the word of the skulls" ;) (Deity to petition/invoke still pending too).

Hmm - 13 moons ahead is interesting...
Thankyou.

Yep.... each month has a new moon - except September (which has two). FYI< I'm looking at Samhain as the beginning of the new year....just so you know.

 Wiccan here.

:) I never do year readings ahead, except as an exercise... but you've got me thinking it would be interesting to pull cards for the moons ahead, record, and then refer back on the nights of those moons.

Calcifer

No mater what, I establish the 13 cards for the moons of the coming year - and then I'll often use them as significators as the year progresses.
Gotta quit now - feel like I'm hijacking this thread. Sorry GD !

Deck of the Dead. I think of it as more spooky than dark. Not demonic or vampirey, just spooky in an authentically Halloween way.

That day I'll get a reading from my friend and her runes. After this, I'm going to use one or two of my fairy decks. They don't seem very Halloween-ish. I think I'll be more into the reading for Samhain

Sorry, I'm confused - what do you mean Samhain is on Nov 7th? I've always been celebrating it the night before Nov 1st?
