Cards popping out while shuffling?

Sometimes I pay attention to them and sometimes I don't. Sometimes they mean something coherent and sometimes they don't. I'm not really superstitious about them, like considering they're flipping out like they've got a mind and energy of their own. It just depends on my mood whether I incorporate them into the reading or not.

I love jumpers... I dug up some other threads on the Talking Tarot forum alone that are on the same subject, so you could read more of how many members pay attention to the jumpers... They're cool!

Click these for more jumper threads...

Alissa,
Thanks for putting those links out! Just finished reading thru them.... some very cool answers/replies. And more insight on those jumper/flippers :)

You're most welcome! Sometimes if a subject comes up often over a few years time, a new thread on the same subject (however worthy of discussion) will go kinda unnoticed. I think this is because for the "old timers" we've discussed the subject (sometimes several times) over the years; the eyes may skim over the topic and dismiss it.

So I like to dig up old threads on the same subject, just in case the current thread doesn't get all the attention it deserves. You'll be sure to get lots of opinions on it that way. :D

Jumpers are wonderful. Jumpers are often the most important card of the whole reading... the whole sitting (if several readings are being done). To me, that so many of us experience them regularly really validates their "strangeness" when they show up. They're not the same as a bad shuffle... you're just going along and weeeee, out pops a card that's usually loaded with personal meaning at the time.

I'm with the majority on this...I pay attention to the jumper and incorporate it into the reading. I know one reader who does a fast and sloppy shuffle and then reads only the cards that jump out. Works real well for him!

Did that once too, although not on purpose. LOL By the time I had done shuffling, I had six jumpers. I figured that was enough cards to give me my answer, so I didn't even pull any cards ( I don't usually use spreads anyway). It went well for me that time too.
