Finally started my own Deck

Dancing Bear

After many attempts !
I have started my own deck.
It has a Middle Earth Feel. and Based upon JRR Tolkeins Middle Earth world.
Based upon his stories of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
I was enquiring a couple of weeks ago about already published decks.
They just didnt do it for me.
I just Love Tarot and JRR Tolkeins world.
And Living close to Rainforests, which gives me loads of inspiration for drawings. Family love the fact i am drawing again, they get to go to forests and swimming holes on the weekends :)

I have chosen majority of the Characters from his World for the Tarot Deck.
I am still working on the Pips.
But I am attempting to Draw them now.
I dont know if i am good enough drawer or sketcher to do this.
As i am normally a Pastelist painter.
I am going to have to experiment with Mediums to draw these images. and try to get the crisp lines i am looking for.

I have finished one home created deck a while ago , based upon Waterhouse Paintings, But couldnt post up images due to copyright laws..
and way too expensive to buy the rights.

So this deck I am being brave and going to attempt to Draw them.

Does anyone know how to develop a Watermark via Computer?

I think it'll totally depend on your software. Are you using Photoshop?

Dancing Bear

NO I dont use photoshop.
I have made up Templates, So i can print off 9 cards at a time Using Publisher.
I use Publisher , Paint.Net, Paint or office.org draw.
I think Publisher would be my best bet though!

Flaxen

Congratulations, Dancing Bear. Sounds like an interesting project - I know what you mean about current LOTR type decks.

KMilliron

Not sure about those programs, but if it's similar enough to photoshop, just creat another layer, put your text, and then lower the opacity.

Eyebright

Looking forward to seeing some of your artwork Dancing Bear once you have sorted out a watermark.
Sounds like my kind of deck :)

Eyebright

Thanks for trying to help.
I have found that i have to create two images , One for me, and one to place watermark on and post up.
because watermark once on doesnt come off LOL!!
But this doesnt matter when i am displaying my artwork out in the open.
I have an unblemished copy safely stored on external stick.
Using Publisher. :)

Thanks Flaxen and Eyebright,

I am hoping to post up an image very soon ;)

I'm looking forward to it.

Are you doing it based on the movies?

That sounds wonderful! There aren't enough decks like that. I can't wait to see some of your work. :)
