Healing Energy Project--Katrina Survivors

DarkElectric

I like that, Imagemaker, it's beautiful!
Thanks for sharing it. :)
I think peace is something that's definitely needed down there right now. It's been overly chaotic, and balance needs to be restored.

Hi DarkElectric! This sounds wonderful!! Thanks for joining your loving/healing energy to our group.

Imagemaker, I really like the quote you shared. Beautiful!

Today both morning and evening sessions, I had to take my own "advice" and be gentle with myself. Focusing mostly on energy to the most affected areas I have felt in the previous sessions and general prayer for well-being in the world.

Be Peace :)

In the spirit of Imagemaker's quote from yesterday, I thought I would post this from Thich Nhat Hanh. Stay strong and be peace.

Our true home is in the present moment.
To live in the present moment is a miracle.
The miracle is not to walk on water.
The miracle is to walk on the green Earth
in the present moment, to appreciate
the peace and beauty that are available now.
Peace is all around us—
in the world and in nature—and within us—
in our bodies and our spirits.
Once we learn to touch this peace,
we will be healed and transformed.
It is not a matter of faith;
it is a matter of practice.

Practice, indeed. I've been to hear him speak and he's very practical and has a lot of common sense--not promising or claiming benefits you can't imagine, just saying, meditate and you will *know* it's worthwhile.

He taught us a song, you sing each line twice (can't convey the melody, sorry):

I have arrived, I am home in the here and in the now.
I am solid, I am free.
In the ultimate I dwell.

It makes a good meditation focus.

Wow Imagemaker...what a beautiful story, and what a gift to have been able to meet him in person and receive this song from him.

Since I started late last Friday, I counted today as the 7th day of my commitment. I would still, of course, like to encourage everyone (here and everywhere) to continue Sending Your Voice to the Great Spirit for healing in the world and especially for the Hurrican Katrina survivors and those that have walked on. Thank You!! to each of you here in this thread so much for your dedication and love and support you have given to the world this past week.

By happy 'accident' I found this beautiful Zen poem by Wendy Egyoku Nakao today so will end my commitment here with this. It is titled "I Call To You---A Blessing For The Journey"

Let us vow
to remember
the causes of suffering and
to practice an end to suffering.
I shall accept all
that I cannot change
and let my heart be broken.
May we be gentle
for all our days,
here, there, and everywhere.

Let us vow
to bear witness
to the wholeness of life,
reallizing the completeness
of each and everything.
Embracing our differences,
I shall know myself as you,
and you as myself.
May we serve each other
for all our days,
here, there, and everywhere.

Let us vow
to open ourselves
to the abundance of life.
Freely giving and receiving,
I shall care for you,
for the trees and stars,
as treasures of my very own.
May we be grateful
for all our days,
here, there, and everywhere.

Let us vow
to forgive all hurt,
caused by ourselves and others,
and to never condone hurtful ways.
Being responsible for my actions,
I shall free myself and you.
Will you free me, too?
May we be kind
for all our days,
here, there, and everywhere.

Let us vow to remember that
all that appears will disappear.
In the midst of uncertainty,
I shall sow love.
Here! Now! I call to you:
Let us together live
The Great Peace that we are.
May we give no fear
for all our days,
here, there, and everywhere.

what a gift to have been able to meet him in person and receive this song from him.

Well, I as part of a large group in one of his day-long programs, though I did greet him in person as we did an outdoor exercise :)

It's all about "in the midst of uncertainty, sow love" indeed. There are so many stories of caring and self-sacrifice coming out of the Katrina disaster.

Our commitment continues on a good path.
