I Ching Reading with Clarity

Fulgour

Having received the bi-monthly newsletter for some time
I can recommend this site for consitently valuable views:

There are basically two versions of the I Ching's origins: the mythical, and the historical. A few translations of the I Ching still present the mythical version as historical truth, which it is not. And some scholars of the I Ching's history describe the myth as 'fraudulent history' - which it is most definitely not!

Has anyone else also found Hilary to be of great help?

Thank you, Fulgour, it looks good after a quick look...
I've bookmarked it for a more serious perusal later.

A paid online course, sadly enough.

Ah my mistake.

I was looking for the correspondence course, and yes, you have the pay for that.

the free course consists of:

Where does the I Ching come from, and what is it for?
How to recognise a good I Ching translation
Reviews of some of the best I Ching books
The working parts of the I Ching
Finding the real question
How to consult
A sample reading

Not my kind of course, I fear. I'm mostly interested in finding out more about the roots of the I Ching. (From many different sources, since just like Tarot, I think we never will found out, how it came to be). If somebody has information about it, please post it, or pm to me, if you like to share.
And in many other historical interests before I start to even try and read I Ching. I primary want to "see" and "taste" some of this part of the Chinese culture, because it's part of my heritage.

I hope somebody else might benefit from this course.
