I have used John The Conqueror root (oil, as well as the root itself) for different reasons, though not for removing unwanted/dark entities.
I would probably want to go with some kind of cleansing for your needs, an uncrossing bath or maybe just a Van Van bath (which has cleansing/clearing properties, as well as bringing in good luck, good fortune). After the cleansing, John The Conqueror root would be a fine charm to carry with you for good luck, prosperity and respect. Or wear the oil as a daily routine for the same purposes as carrying the root. Though it is usually carried/worn by men, women do use it as well.
