When we got to Haltwhistle, Shelley saw a sign that shocked her greatly.
"No it ISN'T," she said firmly. "Shh," we said. "You might upset someone." "But it ISN'T"....
After we parked in fabulous downtown, we walked up the hill, where she saw a jackdaw feather, and I had to pick it up for her. Then she saw a whole load more, so my purse was full of them.
When we got there, she liked the automated arrival system, and chortled when I had to put in my date of birth. “I didn’t know you were THAT old,” she said….
She wanted to watch while they took my blood, but I thought she might frighten the nurse, who was young and innocent. But when we left, things got interesting. She really is a bit ghoulish, and wanted to Get Involved, but I told her she might make things worse.
"Like your mother?" she asked.
"Just like my mother."
"Oh - OK - fair enough."
So we went on to Tescos. In the car park, she was briefly alarmed by a Sign, but we calmed her down, and went into town.
(And she just pointed out (somehow !) that I left out the pic of her with her New Friends.... here it is - late !)
