Starter Deck For My 19-Year-Old Son

CornissMagorniss

My 19-year-old son wants to learn to read tarot. He frequently asks me to read for him, and he feels the readings help him clarify his problems, goals, and options. He's a Knight of Cups type, more kinetic than cerebral, positive, not dark or particularly sentimental, sociable, a bit macho, but affable.
Can you recommend a good deck for him?

Something colorful with illustrated minor cards: Morgan Greer is a good place to start, or maybe the Radian RWS. I'd say the pictures should be emphatic and not soft or gauzy.

I asked my 16 year old son his opinion on what YOUR son could like, as I was thinking about the Silicon Dawn Tarot but this is not a beginer deck, he told me Pirates Tarot!!!! I would never think of that... He justified: kind of squirrel humorous manly deck, nor cute or dark. And simple!

I have to add - I think the Morgan Greer and the Aquarian are both good starter decks. The Aquarian is nice for a Knight Cups guy, it is both slightly masculine, and yet dreamy :) and really simple to understand. Nice clean lines. Like the Arts and Crafts period in art.

I forgot to post the links ;)

Tarot of Pirates, kind of Jack Sparrow tipe of art:

Or this one, more sanitized:

The one I thought of, but not a beginer deck:

And I remembered this one he could like:

Love the wood pirates one, but the cards are supposed to be huge. Universal fantasy is cool.
