Wisdom of the Hidden Realms

This is not my usual kind of deck, but I love, love, love these cards. They are so sweet and gentle with my readings, but I still get the message, all right!

I did not like the Wisdom from Avalon cards at all, and have tried for months to pawn off, I mean trade away, the deck. So, similar decks from the same creator, but they feel completely different to me.

Don't you Love it...

When you're looking for something, in my case, I was looking for a good oracle deck to start with, and the universe throws something in your lap! :)

I'm new to tarot and oracle decks. Unless one is fabulously wealthy, one must chose carefully. I wanted to start with one deck for tarot (just got Mystic Dreamer and I am getting a pocket universal waite for a back up reference) and I wanted to start with one oracle deck. I thought it would be nice to get a feeling for both tarot and oracle decks, see if I feel more comfortable with one or the other, or both.

I have been SCANNING tons of oracle decks, then came upon Wisdom of the Hidden Realms on Amazon. So far, so good, sounds promising. Then I came to oracle decks here to see some samples, looked good. Then I hopped onto this forum to try to search for any threads and this was up near the top!

I'm gathering from most of your thoughts you like this set of oracle cards. Think good for a newbie? Listing other decks you like, or used when you started, are appreciated! I also have a thread going of Oracle history, when I was trying to find out info. So....if you're in the mood to share, please DO! :)

i read your thread and saw that you were considering the hidden realms as first deck. i think that as a whole it can be a great first deck. i find it to be a very good deck- well made in both art and writing.you can see on utube a demonstration by the author of how to read it with seven cards spread.
it is not my favorite but one of.there are so many that i would have to think very hard about an only one and still not be sure. you can defenetly go for that one if you love the art and can conect to the interpertations. i know that the author had on her site a free daily card draw with both her decks and you can see there both the art and her interpertation.
i also recomend as oracle decks:the dragonfae oracle
spirit of the wheel oracle deck
if you are interested in wicca then the well worn path and hidden path
and playind cards are also nice,there are so many oracles on the market that you have plenty to choose from.
i think you are wise to check and go for only one because sometimes too many is just too many and you dont know with which to work.

I'm checking out the oracles you mentioned. I will DEFINITELY let you all know which oracle or oracles (trying to limit to two for now), I start with!

I just got this deck recently and while it's not my usual cup of tea, I found myself surprised in how much I liked some of the artwork. Very different from Avalon (Which I don't have but have seen). It would be a great beginners deck as the meanings are as clear or as intuitive as you want to make them. I found a few of the messages slightly repetitive ("tapping into the Divine") but this deck has a lot of charm and has provided spot on advice when I've played with it.

I did have trouble with a MISSING card in the deck but the publisher very kindly replaced the deck.

The Lady of Lightning card came up reversed last week for me. In reverse it's similar to the Tower, and boy did it ever shake up my world. Still shaken up :(
But I mention this to let ya know these cards have really proven to be very accurate for me. And they definitely aren't fluffy. If they have bad news for you, they will surely let you know.

Thanks to Claire Bear, I found the card messages to be amazing ... of course, her intuition is impeccable, that is a fact that cannot be denied.

I found this deck for $10, free shipping and I had to have them ... reading some of these posts, I know I made the right decision!

This deck is awesome! I have a huge oracle collection and this is one of the few decks I use frequently - with great results. And usually I am not into this kind of photo-manipulation artwork... but the WHR is an exception!
