Your experiences when you had a professional tarot/psychic reading

I have read through everyone's posts now and wow! Some great experiences there and some really lousy ones too, sadly.

I have had times when a customer would come to me for a psychic reading, and I was not able to connect with them in anyway. When this happens to me, I apologize to the customer and explain that I cannot connect with them and give them their money back. Thank God, that hardly ever happens, but it can happen and does. I am sure every psychic has had this occur, and sometimes it is because the client is completely closed off and sometimes it is just what it is. Who knows why this happens?

I have had some pretty awful readings myself over the years, and tend to just remember not to go back to the person. Some are charlatans, yes, some just cannot make a connection with me for whatever the reason. So, when you do find a great reader, stick with them and go back when you feel the need to do so.

I've also had some fantastic readings--and more good readings then bad, tbh. I am a very open person and tend to be easy to read for. I'm told this all the time, and I know it is true. It amazes me all the time when I give or receive a reading with accuracy. I've done this for many years now, and grew up in a family where giving and receiving readings of various types was commonplace. However, the beauty in it all never ceases to amaze me.

That is actually rather cool never heard anything like that before. WOW!

Past Life experiences & lives can be really fascinating and sometimes the opposite.....

A Japanese friend of mine in at least 3 of her lives (she saw it all herself in dreams etc) was murdered as well as her child I think or at least the threat of it was there. In one life she was French, another Chinese, and I think also Japanese.

When I met her, some months later she befriended an Empath, and this was when the dreams started and the revelations of her Past Lives. That friend was actually her child in those other lives or even a parent.

Later...she met the "one" that had killed her in each life and told me she knew he had not changed, also, that Psychically he was connected to her from the moment they met again.
She was really afraid as she didn't want the same thing to happen in this life, so was doing everything possible to alter that course or path.

I left Japan so am not sure what has happened since, but the last thing she told me was that she was blocking him from Psychic attacks and working out ways to keep him away from her and the Empath.

I should try and touch base with her again only I think I may have left it too long.

At least for you - it was a really good reunification of souls. :)

Omg! That's actually really freaky! I've always been so interested in past lives and have been thinking about past life regression through hypnotism. But to be honest I never think that my past lives could be as hectic as the one you mentioned with your friend and I think if I was made conscious of that it would be a fairly big thing to shoulder. It's funny though how some people believe that soul mates are just a term for lovers when in fact they could be any relationship whether that be a child, sibling, parent, friend, enemy etc... I truly believe that I have been paying off some past life karmic debt these last few months. Thank you for that story that was deadset nuts but very very interesting.

I haven't read through everyone's posts yet, but will surely, as this is my favorite subject to talk about. :D

My mother use to take us girls and sometimes friends of ours to get our tarot cards read, (she refused to ever read for family), and quite a few of them were also very psychic. I remember one time going there and my mothers reading told her that she would inherit a lot of money from a man she knew but had no contact with. The man was furthered described as a slender built, dark haired, blue eyed man. The reader mentioned there would be a lot of things going on in regards to the will, and some fighting as well to get it.

Mother always swore that was ridiculous, as she didn't know anyone to fit that bill that would leave her money or that she'd fight for- and just laughed it off. Well, at least 20 + years later, guess what happened? Mom did indeed get A LOT of money from her brother. She and her brother hadn't spoken in many, many years, and they lost track of each other. He did have a will drawn up, and everyone who was close to him knew about this will, but the will was never registered and had disappeared. So the person who was to inherit, did not inherit and instead his assets went to his closest relatives--his 3 living sisters, my mother being one of them.

I had a reading again at the same place where mom had the above reading, and was told that I would meet and marry my s.o. around a holiday and she gave me his 3 initials. Told me what he did for a living, how he dressed, what he looked like and that we would do a lot of world traveling. Well, he sounded ideal to me, but I also laughed it off and forgot this reading. Awhile later, I did meet a wonderful man, and we enjoyed each others company immensely--he was a keeper, I knew! We moved in together for awhile before we married too. However, it was before we actually moved in together that I remembered the reading, and having had taken notes, pulled it out to go over, and everything this woman predicted was 100% right on! Right down to his initials!

One reason I laughed it off, is that my sister also had a reading by this woman and she read pretty much the same thing to her, talking about how she'd meet and marry her s.o. soon, his initials, and more. So, we had figured that she was giving this same reading to all the young girls who came before her.

My young niece, is very psychic, and one day when she went to my moms home to be babysat, she walked up to my mother and told her that her parents were going to divorce each other. My mother was shocked and assured this niece, (who was at the time about 4yoa) that she was wrong and "if mommy & daddy are fighting, they'll work it out", etc. etc. to reassure this niece. My sister and her husband were also shocked that she would say this, but the niece kept right on and said "daddy is leaving for another woman". My sister, bro in law & the children were shopping one day and ran into this woman (we all went to school together & knew each other) and my niece was quite rude to the woman and later mentioned that "that's the woman daddy will leave us for!"

Now, fast forward many years, and sure enough, later on didn't my bro in law and this very woman have an affair (both being married to others) and my bro in law left my sister for this woman! So, even my young niece could predict something far in advance.

I have many stories of where predictions came true like this. Some I've even been able to predict myself. So, yes, it can come to be, and while I don't know how old your son is, I'm willing to bet he will end up motor biking with someone he is close to. Hold onto this reading, and check back in some years to see if it came to be! :D

Your story is really amazing! I'm spinning out about your niece! She must be truly gifted. That's mind blowingly awesome. But in a way not so awesome that she at such an early age predicted the end of her parents marriage, the cause and even the 3rd party involved. All these stories on here are so fascinating, I love hearing them. I definitely will be holding on to these readings and I'll come back to them as the years progress and see if anything has come true. Thank you for your very unique story that was fabulous!

Yes I've heard of people having a block up. One of my friends has gone to a few readings where 90% of the time they can't really pick up on anything from her. The weird thing is that the the things they had picked up on her were mostly always her sister coming through instead of her. So she is always on the lookout for a good psychic as she can't get a good reading and it seems she's paying for her sister to get all the free readings lol

I probably had a reading here or there at a psychic fair or two through the years, but I can't actually remember anything about them.

One summer day, though, my partner and I were exploring Newport, Rhode Island and were down at the 'end' of town, and for some reason I decided that 'we should walk down this street.' Halfway down was a book-y store type thing that said in the window 'Tarot Readings' so for the hell of it we went in. There was nothing particularly 'anything' about this shop; in fact, I couldn't understand why they were offering Tarot readings! It didn't make sense.

We left and started walking down the street - and there it was! The stereotypical storefront shop painted bright purple! "READINGS" it said in the window. It had a small waiting area in the center and two 'reading rooms' , one on each side; it seems it was some kind of 'mother/daughter' psychic shop. We went in. I decided to get a reading and the daughter took me into one of the rooms and whipped out a Thoth deck and asked me to think of 3 questions while I shuffled. (I never tell readers I read cards; I never tell readers I wrote a book on the subject). So, she started flipping over the Thoth cards - which I was unfamiliar with - and started spouting. I was keenly ware that even though I was unfamiliar with this deck I at least knew something about Tarot in general and I sensed she was not reading the cards at all; she was reading me.

And she was highly accurate! She picked up on Mario and started talking and talking about all this stuff that was very pinpointed and accurate enough not to be a cold reading. She spent almost the entire time of my session talking about Mario. She made only one mistake - if you can call it that: Mario was dead at that time - and that she never picked up on.

(Yes, when she was done I did tell her that the person she so accurately described was deceased.)

BTW - she did pick up on the books I was going to write, but not that they would be Tarot; they would be 'books to help people.'

My youngest sister is the same. ..not many have been able to read her and it isn't like she isn't open to it.

Interesting how some can be read like books where as others are like brick walls.

The professional I went to while I was in college was a very sketchy lady who had me all wrong. She also only talked about romance, which annoyed me. I was not impressed.

When I first set out to more seriously study tarot, my friend's girlfriend and I did a reading exchange.

To date, it is one of my most treasured reading experiences. I paid her $15 because I told her she was amazing! I don't think she believed me :p

Since then, which was about two years ago, I have had one more reading that I paid for. It was good, but very...vague. Something about it just didn't hit any "marks" for me. Thus, my best reading done in-person for cash was from an amateur :)

DownUnderNZer

Have to say my best readings have been done by readers with no tools or no real need for them. No frauds, failures or poor readings and the cost ranged from $40 to $250.

And... also me. I like my readings too. :)

It's funny, I read professionally but I've never really been to a good professional reader.

The closest was one time I was at the beach with an ex of mine and they got a reading from one of those $5 psychic booths, they were told that they would meet someone with J as an initial, and to be careful because he was no good. At the time I was like yeah, right... we were really serious and I couldn't see a future where we weren't together.

Guess what? They left me for someone with J for an initial. And they were really bad news and really terrible to my ex for years and years.

I went to a psychic one time in Hawaii, I saw a sign outside of a smoke shop, this woman who owned the shop was reading tarot cards on the side. She gave me a terrible reading, nothing she said had anything to do with me. She used a couple of different decks and also an animal spirit oracle. She was so, so sincere. Not trying to swindle me at all, just got a bad read and interpreted everything incorrectly. I actually felt really bad for her.

I've had wonderful readings from friends and colleagues. I had a reading from a friend once right before a big move who went out of her way to warn me against it based on the reading, when she knew my mind was already made up. Her reading was right on... the move was the worst decision I've ever made in my life. The cards were eerily accurate down to the pictures.

I'm not sure if I'm just going to the wrong pro readers or what. Maybe it's because I am surrounded by folks who read so when I do pay for a reading it's on a lark and I'm not inclined to take it seriously.

That's what I noticed about a lady I seen, she used the cards but hardly looked at them, it felt like she was saying things that just came to her instead of what the cards were suggesting?

and Oh WOW about your experience... Love it when I hear a good successful reading as opposed to a crappy one.

Thank you for that story x
