10 of Cups as a negative card??

I tend to go with Nisaba's interpretation,
All the times 10 of cups had come for relationships was to point that things stay comfortable, as they are, no action, no effort amd everybody lives happily ever after this way, looks a lot with 4 of cups but in this case the effort is not given, because the person or persons are already satisfied as they are and not because they wait for something or they are bored.

Also the expectations of a perfect relationship, a prototype in mind could block the relationship from growing, as it doesn't leave space for creativity and freedom and births dissatisfaction and all the others that follow.

Fascinating range of observations here. The Golden Dawn considered it "Perfected Success," but Crowley as usual went right for the jugular and called it "Satiety," implying too much of a good thing, perhaps to the point of feeling uncomfortably over-full or bilious. His commentary on Liber T was "This is not such a good card as stated. It represents boredom, and quarreling arising therefrom." I like the "smothering" idea, and also the idea that the energy has run it's course - enter "Swords, stage right."

It all depends on the relationship itself and how both peple feel

10 cups is one of the "count your blessings" cards imo

And its not a crime to be satisfied with what one has
It can range from excellent to good enough to best youre gonna get

We only live for so many years, why not settle for what you are comfortable with instead of gambling forever more on the perfect relationship which does not exist
So maybe the 10 of cups is telling you exactly that
Dreams are allowed though
