How do you work out Personality, Soul and Year Cards?

Dear Everyone, especially Moongold who started this fascinating thread...
My birthdate is 30.11.73, making #7 The Chariot as both my soul card and my personality card.
My partners is 06.08.76, making his soul card #9 The Hermit, and interestingly, his personality card is #18; The Moon...what a strange coincidence...am I the only one who finds this strange?
I wonder if this is why we have such a hard time seeing eye to eye

In determining the year card, always keep th highest number under 23 and don't reduce it
For the current year, my Year Number is.......11...........which corresponds to the Major Arcana Card>.....Justice (or Strength)................
