Sorry to revive an old thread, but I just got my Scapini deck and wanted to share some insight. First of all, dont play with your tarot cards while eating. I had just looked at my deck, but had to get it out again to check what version it was and if the pictures were blurry. They weren't, but I managed to spill some food on the table and put my cards in it, sob. Luckily I just got a little food on the sides of the cards, you can hardly see it.
I got the deck with the "Art and Arcana" book, the card box says that the deck is printed in Italy. The other bigger box says that the deck is printed in Belgium and the book is printed in Canada. The deck is printed by US Games in 2005. The pictures are quite good and sharp and the deck is beautiful. I work at an esoteric bookstore and we have samples of all the decks we sell, I think the sample we have of the Scapini deck is the one printed in Switzerland. There's a different feel to the cards, the back of them is matte and the colors are great. The cards I have are shiny, a bit slippery and have a laminated feel to them. I wish I had gotten the Swiss edition, just for the feel of the cards, but I'm quite happy with the one I have aswell. It's not ugly, at all so I guess it's a new edition.
