Flotsam and Jetsam Divination Kits! The Sirens of Oosa

NorthernTigress

Yay! My last package arrived today, from Shamoness. :D :D :D :D

What a great bag of treasures!

  • a piece of coral
  • a piece of shell
  • another shell with more shells inside (kind of acts like a mini-rattle now.)
  • a bone hair ornament
  • a mask charm
  • a crescent moon/star charm
  • three different stars (metal, white, red)
  • a bird bead made in Peru (I thought it was supposed to be a fortune-cookie at first  )
  • a red-pepper bead
  • a bead with a spiral pattern
  • a full moon bead
  • a tiny brass bead (and a note of who made the necklace it came from)
  • a little fish bead
  • a crystal heart
  • a leaf-shaped bead
  • a blue patterned bead
  • a piece of lava-rock used for fire rituals
  • finally a white "thing" :( (sorry shamoness, I couldn't read your handwriting for this one word. What is this intriguing object?)

And of course, the reading cloth. Love it. So many possibilities. I'll try using this cloth, as well as my tray. (funny how they are both purple! )

Could anyone please post a picture of the spreadcloths shamoness made? I'd love to see how they look! :)

I'm not sure if they were identical, or each one unique, but this is mine.

It has many possibilities.

The points of the pentacle are Spirit/Divine, Air, Fire, Water, Earth

Inside the pentacle are Love, Hate, Joy and Sorrow.

Around the outside are Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer

There are spots for Male and Female.

And, of course, in the Center of everything is the Key.

It is a Dentalium shell. They are sometimes called "tusk shells," because they are curved like little elephant tusks. They have holes at both ends and can be strung as beads, though the small end sometimes needs to be broken to open it a little more. They have been used for beads for tens of thousands of years.
