A Visual Diastasis Of The 5X14 Theory

On the site Kwaw you linked there is this entry.

1376 FLORENCE 23 May. A game called 'naibbe' is forbidden in a decree, with the implication that the game had only recently been introduced there.

I am curious as how long these decrees lasted and if any notice was taken of them. If they were protectionist measures - did they last longer? If they were moral decrees- then how come they appeared to be ignored if they had any teeth? This is an area that I have had a hard time finding out any information.
This is mostly due to language barriers on my part.

I need to spend time reading and re-reading these history threads - the detective work is GREAT. All these detailed facts are facinating, and very educational. not to say wonderful for uncovering the history of the cards.

Many thanks for posting your knowledge and findings. :) :) :)
