A recent dream:
I am walking on a wide beach, with the water noticeably lower than the sand and to my left. There is a flock of birds in the air, they look like pelicans. My sister(?) sits in the beak of one of them. I am surprised that none of the birds are on the beach, but there are yellowish balls. I may have felt slightly jealous because she gets to fly and I don't - or maybe I just feel left alone because at this point there's no other human/living thing on the beach except me. I see one of the birds land and roll itself into one of these balls (which seems odd because the ball is so much smaller than the bird). Someone tells me they are "googles". [After I woke up I wondered if this has anything to do with the Google Chrome adverts that I've seen over the last 1-2 weeks here.]
I keep walking and come to a place where the snow(?) is rather bloody. I also see yellow bones and know they're from a sacrificed sheep. [I have no idea of the size of sheep bones in real life.] There is a dug-out where most of the blood is, and I know this is where the sheep has been sacrificed. There also is a short, bloody trail where the sheep has been going after it has been wounded. I feel drawn towards the bones and start moving towards them, wanting to touch and possibly take them (they are neither scary nor yucky to me). But I sort of move/float/glide beyond them. Nobody else (there are a few people further to the water's edge) pays any attention to the blood and bones, although I'm not sure if they simply don't see them or if they just don't care.
A little further one, someone I know is sitting on the beach (sandy again). I walk towards them, and pass a small pond (which is only slightly larger than a big puddle) with a big stone in it. It is surrounded by green plants/reeds. As I pass it, I notice out of the corner of my eye that there is a turtle on the stone. In the dream, I'm thinking of Turtle as Earth. I walk past it and wave to the person I know to come to me and the pond. As we look at it again, the turtle is being pulled backwards into the water by a big crab. To the right of them, I see another big stone with a group of lively otters playing around it, gliding from it into the water. I try to take pictures (my field of perception actually narrows to what I'd see through the viewfinder of a camera). Suddenly I see the head of a polar bear rise out of the water among the otters. I try to take pictures while I slowly move backwards so the bear doesn't attack me (I have a feeling I am too close too it).
There were other bits of dreams, but this seemed to be the most important one.

I'm pretty stumped by all of this. Usually, I hardly ever dream of animals, so this dream is quite extraordinary. I can't shake the impression that the sudden appearance of all the animals is significant here...
The beach is an inbetween place, although I'm firmly on the land side in this dream. The water is just there but doesn't play much of a role.
I have no idea what to make of the pelicans/"googles."
The blood and bones thing is what I'd do in real life if I found such a place, too: go and take a look, very likely touch the bones, and possibly take one/some of them with me. I believe it may be relevant that I'm not there for the actual sacrifice but only arrive after the fact to deal with the "leftovers." Via the Ironwing Tarot, the issue of "psychopomping" (= guiding souls to the other side) has been on my mind lately. I would say that the beach scene is more about the physical remains than about the soul, though...
The turtle/crab/otters/polar bear also baffle me. Except for the crab, they are all animals I associate with parts of learning about shamanism. Turtle is the Earth, Otter is about learning about the interconnectedness of everything, and Bear is (to me) related to the North and Ancestor Spirits. Most of this is stuff I've been told, though, so it doesn't necessarily come from "within" me. Aside from that, I'd say Turtle is also water/earth (like the beach), slow, and ancient. Otters are playful and make smart use of tools. And Bear is solid, calm, but could also become dangerous if not respected properly.

I'd be grateful for any other takes on this. Please feel free to ignore my own interpretations in what you write.
