So there are a few of the pigeons that have come out so far, the meanings have started to come out but since the deck is not for me, the girl will have to help me decode the pigeon muse's gifts.

So it's compleatly diff. There are two fool cards "Chasing", and "Embrassing"
one for each end of the deck because the fool seems very important in both places. The stories written around the edges of some cards will tell more about them, some of the stories will have to be written by the girl herself.

um... yeah... Posting these here so you guys can see where your advice has aided in creating these, and so the girl can find them until I buy stamps...
and I'd like to know what you think....

Thanks,

Thanks for sharing Ankou.

I really prefer this style; much more abstract and open to interpretation ... and I REALLY like the card with the writing around the border - "I woke up with a pigeon on my head ....".

As I said before, I hate keywords or any distraction from the image but this REALLY works on that card ... it is just enough to give you an idea and get your intuition going. It is almost like the first line of a fairytale or story. If you could work a little opening line like that round every card, it would be a very interesting deck to work with.

What I also like is that the images have humour, but on the flip side, there is something a little eerie and sinister about them - I smiled when I saw the shadow of the pigeon, but there was also a darker side to the image. I will have to have a look at it upside down and see how it looks when reversed.

Also, I started seeing things in the images. The 'shadow' card - the bottom half, showing the shadow reminded me of two legs. In the 'Embarrassment' card, the girls left leg looks like the head of a nurtured white dove, hiding. That is the great thing about oracles; they work differently for everyone.

Congratulations on a great start and keep up the good work!

sigh...

Thanks littlebudda. Some cards will have stories, some will have words built in, some will just wait for the girl to add what they may need.

The pigeon of shadows I haven't decided whether to add text around the edge or not but if I do it will say something akin to...

"Its just a little pigeon, but he makes a big shadow under the street lamp."

And its deffinately a reversible card, showing (for me anyhow) whether it's just a little pigeon or some larger impossing fear. If that makes sense.

Some of the cards don't seem to want any text built in, so I think maybe I'll let them have their way.

This is such a wonderful idea! I'm a Balt/DC local and I'm just totally excitd about your deck. What about using the lion sculpture at the Balt. zoo, or the lions on the 16th street bridge in DC? The Lincoln Memorial might be awesome for the Emperor, and the Washington Monument for the Tower - althought personally I'd prefer the Bromo Seltzer building in Baltimore (I LOVE that building).

Other ideas for pentacles could be just "crumbs" or "seeds" or manhole covers (although I prefer the food idea).

What fun!

awww...

I posted before I saw that you switched to hand-drawn images. Oh well, they are still beautiful, but I still think I was more affected by the original Fool card you posted. Something about that little girl's innocence as she chased the pigeon really appealed to me.

more pigeons in the loft

Here is the Death card. I know I'm switching to an oracle but some cards still want to be drawn like traditional tarot cards.

Hope you like it. The color is much richer in the card.

What a hoot. What a concept.

I want some pigeons from San Marcos@Venice somewhere. They are the consumate pigeons, IMHO. Always in your d*mn overpriced coffee.

Keep up the fab work. Your friend should be overjoyed with such a wonderful gift.
