I think that looking at the work of others who have been successful and who have overcome these very same issues will both inspire you and give you confidence. I often look at some artwork and I don't understand it, but others like it and pay for it. I see some things that inspire me or give me ideas. Art's a very personal thing where you create whatever is forming in your mind at the time. Someone somewhere will 'get' you and like what you're doing. Others have done it and so can you. When we win victory over ourselves and don't give a stuff what others think we aren't as walled in or stifled by our inhibitions, which isn't good for creativity at all - and others are more likely to admire and follow us.
