These sort of decks rarely do anything for me, but this one intrigues me!
They are ordinary playing cards - so any playing card deck could be used - but only the 6s to Aces (Aces high) are used, resulting in deck of 36 cards.

The cards included with the book, have a meaning written on the face for if falls on the right or left of a central card (a significator), plus a meaning if it stands alone or is inbetween two other cards.

There's even online instructions of how to use them, a step by step 'spread'.

:)........little things please little minds. I'm tickled pink with this simple deck.

Bee, have you bought this one? I rather like it. Looks very intriguing. Where did you find out about it?

Do you have them in your hands? Any observations regarding cardstock, size etc??

Oh! I have a friend who made little pics of the various pip patterns- including sets for the Face Cards. It's very fun to consider the "fraction/ratio" that way!

I bought this deck last year at an esoteric shop in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was odd so I thought I'd add it to my growing collection. It's pretty much poker size. I haven't worked with it though. I didn't know there was some sort of website for it.

Do you have them in your hands? Any observations regarding cardstock, size etc?? I ordered it today :). Couldn't find any reviews or proper scans online, only the pics at the link I posted. As tarot heart says they're poker sized = so I'm even more pleased! Keeping fingers crossed that they're nicely shuffleable.

There are some at Amazon.com.

Like you, I'm a sucker for playing cards, cartomancy.

Let me see about a sample of each: Jack, Queen, King

Of course, the diamonds don't show an upright/reversed orientation.

If you'd like to have them, I can send you her email to get it.

Ah! I see what you mean! Now if I was going to approach the playing card deck with Geomancy or Numerology in mind, ideal!

I don't normally use reversed cards. I used to, but then discoved there's really no need because the accompanying cards can indicate the positive or negative mode of a card.

Does your friend 'read' with them?

She's got a real knack for making graphics to illustrate the concepts behind the Metasymbology, Science of the Cards, Destiny Cards styles of reading. I have no idea how wide her range of Reading skills are since I've never asked her for one.

Olney & camp :) Thanks for that link, good to know someone else is doing the Destiny-thing online (other than R Camp).

Well, when I get my mitts on this MKITKHAVI deck, I'll post re. the cardstock etc. I'm hoping the 'meanings' arn't going to be familiar ones!

I've just had a little play with the spread in the link you gave Bee, using the Etteilla deck (because it was handy) and I like the spread a lot, but to really get into this system the cards are needed so that you have her interpretations which are written on them. I think the spread could be done with any deck if you take out pips 2-5, the Trumps, and Knights, and if you are very familiar with the card meanings in the deck (which I'm not with the Etteilla particularly).

I'm going to have a fun day with this spread and either the Playing Card Oracle or maybe one of my Marseilles decks. I guess it would work with a Lenormand too. Lots of fun.

Would be interesting to know what the deck itself brings to this.

I've got a slick Tally Ho deck standing by ready to use in case the cardstock is flimsy. I also think the spread would be suitable with a Lenormand deck :)

Update;

STILL waiting for this deck to arrive. Shaking head in disappointment.
Have a sneaky feeling that the place I ordered it from is out-sourcing and can't find it!

Oh well, I'll be able to keep the cash.

Can you say what the card-stock is like, will it stand up to lots of use?

Sorry I have to say that the card- stock is thin, I only use them every once in a while, and they show some ware already.

Update two:

It's been just over a month now so I've emailed the website to say that if they arn't dispatched within another week to please cancel my order.

Disappointed.

Bee :)

ETA: The suppliers haven't responded to the online retailer. So the order is cancelled :(

sorry to hear that, I got my deck sometime ago so I have no idea where I bought it, I know it was on sale and did not cost much at all.

I just got this message in reply to my order:
Thank you for placing your order with Magus Books. We are presently back ordered on this title but expect to ship it to you within the next 10 days. Please accept our apologies for the delay.

*sinking feeling*

We'll see . . .

Magus Books came through! The cardstock slides very nicely.
But, yes, the cards are thin. I don't think I would be shuffling and doing the bridge trick with these!

ETA: In honor of May 18th being the A:diamond:,
Alone: a great celebration
Left: fantastic news, possibly a wedding
Middle: the situation will improve by the hour
Right: great news from work or school

Oooh, thanks for the Ace D cardlady22 :)

I wish the deck I ordered had been available. I like the "great celebration" idea for a single draw.

Hey, I'm glad they came through! Are these available on Amazon? I'm searching, but maybe not finding. If I can, I'd like to get these with the rest of my order, anyone know? I'm really just trying to find them a smidgeon cheaper... 36 very thin cards for 10 bucks makes me shift in my seat a little... cardlady, if you were to resell them here on AT, what would you sell them for? Have they been working well for you? How are you finding them?

Sorry for all the questions! :D

cardlady22

I don't really look at it as spending $10 on a small deck of cards. That $10 teaches me the system/meanings and then I'll prefer to use my own playing card decks.

Today is the K:diamond:

alone: a new man
left: news that will make you rejoice
middle: your situation will improve
right: life will be too good to be true

ETA: Do you mean, if I didn't like/want the deck? Just opening the box & pulling them out a couple of times has put a small crease in the middle of the box.

Amanda_04
05-06-2011, 02:15
Thanks!

ETA: Yeah- I actually trade away a lot of the decks I get, and I'm worried that if I don't like them and only have them a short time, they wouldn't even be worth selling, and then I'm basically throwing my money out the window. LOL

cardlady22

I have been sick, but as soon as I can see to drive, I plan to lay the cards out on a copy machine to "archive" the meanings. I do think the author/creators would be better off selling a book.

Thanks for the info cardlady, and I hope you feel better soon!
