A question about Liber T Tarot

Stark Raven

Wolfyjames scanned them all in a few years ago.

The Deva is a nice deck but very challenging, especially the fifth suit. :)

Okay Emily, thanks for that. This is not the deck for me. Some of the images have artwork that doesn't resonate with me. Lifeless and bland in some instances. That plus the borders turn me off. I can see the borders clearly in those scans. No, I won't get it.

But I must say, the reason I was looking at it is that I like the Thoth deck, but the coloring is subtle and to me, it's quite boring. Honestly, boring as Hell. It really annoys me. I have seen many posts here referring to its beauty. I don't see it. Perhaps I need a better printing. This one certainly is bland with a capital - well every letter in bland I guess!

I have US Games Premier edition Thoth.

By the way, thanks to all that are adding insightful comments to this thread. I don't have time to respond to each one now, but that doesn't make any less insightful... taking notes both mentally and physically. Thank you all.

Here's a nice link for you to see a scan of all the cards from the Rosetta. It was made by one of our members, akirafist. I personally find the Rosetta SUPER vibrant and much more accessible than the Liber T.

Thanks, but that link leads to a video that's no longer available.

That's weird... I just saw it now... try then going to youtube and typing rosetta tarot review . The presenter calls himself TarotOracle. It is really worth having a look . Tel me if you had any luck :)

Yes it was there when I searched it. Thanks.

It is nice, but that hand-colored look doesn't work for me.

All the versions of the Thoth are pretty much the same, unless you manage to get a White Box Greeny, then the whole deck is a fetching shade of pale green even the ink used for the fonts. :)

Did you take a look at the Via? That's pretty vibrant. There aren't many Thoth clones around.

I did. But as someone who is new to working with Thoth based decks, the fact that it had (as I remember) only a 3 and a half star rating amongst the Thoth based decks referred to here on Aeclectic, well that put me off. I wouldn't yet know what to look for in it to be sure it would do the trick for me.

I have now had a thorough look at all of the Thoth variants that appealed to me at all. Out of them all there isn't one that I find to be all that I want. The one I have, if it had deeper tones would be perfect. But now I am thinking that I may want to try the Liber T. At least it has bright coloring. That for me is a large factor.
