Trimmed Borders/Altered Decks Index

Oink

oh and Oink, great job! I have that deck trimmed and gilted in pewter but you can barely tell, might have to go over it with silver or something some time. the starlite color is nice, though not as black as i expected :0
It looks pretty much exactly the color the sticker on the outside of the pad is, so it's what I expected, but I don't know why they call that color any sort of "black". It's just not - it reads "graphite" to me, but any variant of "grey" or "silver" or "nickel" or whatever would work. Hilariously enough, the BLACK color is called "Graphite Black" though...

The other color that I find odd is the "Platinum Planet" - it's a rather pearlescent white... I think I will use it to do the edges of Charissa Drengsen's Steampunk Tarot since they are on that amazing pearlescent cardstock. I expect it to be so subtle that it won't even show up in a picture though!

Current status: Magical Forest has been trimmed and corner-rounded and is awaiting me to summon the energy to gild it. :p

Glass Owl

You have inspired me to do the same and I have arrived at a decision:
Tarot of the Magical Forest in Galaxy Gold!

ETA: Oh dear... Looked at the index to see what others had done with this deck. It looks WAY too good trimmed - I must do that first!
I just noticed that the ink you mentioned is a pigment one. So you may have to use heat to set that particular ink. I've found that the dye based ones work the best. Here's one, for example, and it is from the same company.

Color Box also offers archival dye ink pads (which you can buy at Amazon too) as does Ranger.

heat gun on card stock is not a good idea. When I was primping decks I tried embossing powders and inks that had to be set. Got rippled cards.

The Tsukineko's I got are Brilliance Dew Drop in:
Galaxy Gold
platinum Planet
Starlite Silver
Cosmic Copper

The cosmic copper on the Etruscan is to die for.

Laughing here, I'm not sure trimming helps. Perhaps trimming out the image and leaving the borders? Oh well, not everything is for everyone...

I gilded my Llewellyn edges last night, looks so pretty! It has already had the borders gilded with gold paint pen and images primped with polishes. I think it's getting heavier!

i am confused now...

I apologize firefrost, I've obviously hurt your feelings.
