I am sorry to hear your familiar passed on. When I read your post I tried to think what I would do as I too would at least want to know they were alright for my own peace of mind. I would choose the card from your deck/decks that to you most represents your familiar, meditate on it right before going to sleep and ask specifically what you want to know. Ask that you be shown clearly that which you wish to know. Keep doing this periodically until there is an answer. I have used this to contact the dead though not specifically with Tarot and have been shown. I think the Tarot is an excellent door through to the otherworld and there are no boundaries when it comes to loved ones, dead or alive.
