Tarot of Pagan Cats

HearthCricket

The pictures are lovely. The cats look very realistic. I love them!

don't know why, but I had a feeling since seeing the first card (thanks for that Ric) this might be a cat deck I could work with. I need to see more and hear more for sure, but it does have a chance of resonating with me.

Hrmmmmmmm I remember a very long time ago that Ric showed us scans of a card in progress. In one we saw a few versions of an image where an older cat speaking to two younger cats with tarot symbols around him/her:

Looking at that card I thought I understood what direction it was going to take... some sort of Cat Harry Potter world. Now it seems a bit more like one of those calendars you start seeing in bookstores where they rework famous paintings with kittens and give them captions like "Meowna Lisa."

But I don't read with cat tarot decks so I am completely unqualified to judge this deck in a really complex way. So I will just continue to judge it and all cat decks from the safety of my well-perforated glass house.

When I first heard about it from Amazon.com's upcoming list, I thought this was pointless and ridiculous. Then I saw small snippets of the artwork, then I thought, I should give it a try. Thanks to the OP, it'll probably be one of the first decks I buy in 2011. I'll have to order additional tarot bags or boxes beforehand, but this will be one of my priority purchases.

Well, I never thought I'd like a cat deck.
I have sneered at cat decks.

But I have to say I do like this one.

Me! like a bloody cat deck???

Who would ever have believed it!
Turncoat.

So I suppose you'll be in the next Moggie Exchange circle? (which has to be soon) If not, I'll duel you at dawn, my Kissatarot (Or Medieval cats) against your Pagan Cats.

Oi, Lillie! I've just had a horrifying thought.

What if the Pagan cats in your Pagan Cats deck start eating your frogs?

<gasp>

<sigh> Okay, another one for the wish list...

I love that Empress. And the 6 of swords. And...

Well, you get the idea. :)

I've armed my frogs with Uzi sub machine guns.
They'll be fine :D

Yes, this may be on my Wish List as well. I'm appreciating that it appears that they're using both domestic and pedigreed cats (at least from the few cards I've seen). The black cat on The Star seems to be an ebony Oriental Shorthair and the spotted cat in the 6 of Swords appears to be an Egyptian Mau (with a proper worried expression)

Really?

How fascinating! I could see that there were lot's of types of cats in the deck, and I could identify the obvious one, like Siamese and the weird bald one, but apart from that they were just like 'stripy' or 'ginger' or 'black'.

Looks like the artist really knew her stuff!

Sadly the LWB doesn't say anything about the breeds of cat used for the cards, I suppose it's all a bit specialised for such a short booklet as a LWB.
