Stones for chronic pain?

dawntarot

I have no idea if this would help for chronic pain. http://www.healing-crystals-for-you.com/shungite.html I've carried a piece on me for a few days and didn't notice any difference with my feet...but it may take time or possibly need to be placed where the pain is. I have pain in both of my feet and I did notice when I carried howlite my feet and ankles felt better. And I noticed a big difference in the way my feet felt after I put the howlite away.

My suggestion on how to use the crystals would be to experiment with them. For example when I worked with labradorite and carried it in my pocket....I didn't feel its vibration but my senses were sharpened. When I tried meditating with it and placed it over my head I could feel its vibrations all the way down to my feet. So depending on where the pain is...you could try simply holding the crystal in your hand...put it on your skin where the pain is..or even try putting it on the chakra closest to where the pain is. You'll figure out what works best for you : )

I've noticed that placing stones directly on the area doesn't seem to help much... the pain just moves, like it's running away from the crystal  So far the best thing has been meditating with them. I'll keep trying different things as you suggest. Thanks :)

Infinite is a trade name for a mix of Serpentine and Chrysotile, or just Serpentine by anyone else selling it.

Thanks for your suggestions :) I have sought medical help, I've got fibromyalgia so there isn't a physical "cause" of the pain, as such... the only real medical "solution" is amitryptiline which I refuse to take :p That's why I've started trying complimentary therapies as I think they are more likely to help me than the "orthodox" medicinal route ;)

Thanks for letting us know, Dawn...I am really sorry to hear about your fibromyalgia, that is a biggie to have to live with! I have always found that term a little unsettling - sounds more like the doc saying "I can't find what is wrong".

In any case, I do wish you luck with the crystals. I can tell you, my mate is extremely cynical and he has had to accept that black tourmaline really does take the pain in his hips away... ;p He is certain that at least *that* stone works!

ETA I just read your post about the pain "running away" from the crystals, Dawn. Perhaps you can try blue Kyanite? That one is supposed to clear out/realign the chakras, sometimes all at once and very forcefully! I can rarely wear mine, I know that - one day of it is quite enough... ;)

The rheumatologist described it as a psychosomatic illness: "Your pain is real, but there is no damage to your body that's causing it... so it's coming from the inside", were her words, if I remember correctly.

Could you tell me more about how he uses the stone? I will try to obtain some asap :) As for blue kyanite, I've never seen it in the shops around here but I'll keep an eye out for it, thanks for the suggestion :)

Here is an informative link on a thread on Black Tourmaline from the crystal forum: http://tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=172664 as to how he uses it, he carries it in his front pants pockets, because his hips are the issue. He changes it from pocket to pocket. We have used surgical tape to adhere it to the upper thighs during sleep - this seemed very effective and he was shocked! :bugeyed: lol but I was not ;p

Also there is this link for Blue Kyanite... http://tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=176898
and Howlite may also be useful for you... http://tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=179934

A rheumatologist whose specialty is psychiatry? Hmmm... I'd take that with a large grain of salt! Some doctor's are so egotistical! They don't have an answer for you so manage to somehow make it your fault. Hmph!

I once went to a well-reputed vet because my dog was limping.

This "well-reputed" vet touched my dog's shoulder with his hands and stated "your dog has elbow dysplasia, a serious and incurable disease!" I couldn't help but laugh. What - he had x-ray vision in his palms? ;p

Further follow-up x-rays with a second vet cleared everything up. The dog did NOT have elbow dysplasia. ;p In fact, there was absolutely nothing wrong with him except for being a puppy in growth stages. (and he is still fine, all these years later.) He stopped limping once he grew a bit more. Fancy that! lol...

I think it is helpful to seek second and third opinions when dealing with doctors...
