eta: oh crud, sorry, I just saw Rosanne's post about the Cathars. That's the kind of answer we need, eh?

And this relates to Canid's comments about the evil demiurge creator god of the OT - the gnostic concept of a creator god as evil demiurge being a tenet of the Cathars:

I wonder whether canid meant it that way, though. If so, I'll take back any accusations made in previous posts.

That gnostics are anti-semites?

There maybe gnostics around here who find that offensive

- one has to be so careful these days;)

But despite the 'metaphysical anti-semitism' in their conception of the OT demiurge, the areas in which the Cathars thrived were considered a safe haven for Jews in a Europe in which anti-semitism was on the rise:

I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone (& this belief, that had is origins in Gnosticism, not only seems anti-semitic but anti-christian, anti-muslim). I was referring to the Cathars, but also much Gnostic text available, particularly the Nag Hammadi. And also our traditional Bible; I am a jealous God & there is no other God before me, the books of Matthew & Luke say the Devil is the ruler & prince of the world. I could go on. I'm not anti-semitic, I'm not anti-anything! I just happen to belief this as truth; the 'God' that created all things physical did so in error. And I still see The Tower as depicting the Fall & creation of everything physical.

I meant no offence either and appreciate your contribution.
