Doreen Virtue's decks usually have the meanings on the cards. A few of them, the Goddess one for sure, even have gilded edges (lovely).

Saints & Angels and Magical Unicorns by Doreen Virtue have gilded edges too. Yes, they are lovely.

A simple and easier method and certainly alot cheaper than buying a oracle deck, is to buy a deck of playing cards and write the keyword on it. I originally started off with a key word on my decks..and then when I fully memorised the meanings, then I bought another one, only $2....just my 2c worth..I realise some people like the artistry...I'm just a little tight with the purse string..so will try and find the cheapest way..lol!! :smoker:

Another Oracle Deck with Meanings

I thought of another Oracle Deck I really like that has meanings printed on the cards - Irish Fairy Cards by Jaya Moran.

The art is kind of primitive but it really grows on you. Jaya Moran drew the cards herself and wrote the book so they really seem to connect well with their meanings.

There are 64 cards in the deck. They are out of print but sometimes come up on eBay and there are some for sale on the Amazon Marketplace.

Here's a link to see some pictures of the cards and back of the cards:

Amongst my favourites are Caroline Myss' Archetype cards, who give a light and a shadow attribute on each card. The art is quite timeless.

Playing cards with meanings on them include Shackman's Fortune Telling Destiny Cards and Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards by U.S. Games - neither of them is visually too appealing though.

For beauty try the Rune Vision Cards by Sylvia Gainsford (has Rune and Nordic Pantheon correspondences) or the Moon Oracle and Oracle of the Radian Sun by Caroline Smith and John Astrop (the latter has keywords)(http://www.elementaltarot.com/).

And if you want to try something very different - I love the Truth Fairy by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber, a beautiful pendulum with different message boards in Amy's typical cloth collage style.

Enjoy browsing oracles
I started like that, too - and now I have more than 100 ... })

Cheers

Hey PR,
Even better is using Quick cards, that creates a deck of cards, creating your own design, print them up on regular paper and then Mod Podging them onto a cheap deck of cards that isn't so heavily laminated!
I have one deck of regular playing cards, that I have done this to, that has gotten wet and its still in use! It has miniture horses on the back! LOL. I use it for my Hedge Wytchery readings!

I did something similar Barbaras, i purchased a cheap 6 dollar set of cards and wrote meaning along the edges as well as key words.

Well, the collection is growing. My Psycards and Madame Lenormand French Cartomancy cards arrived today and I am thrilled to pieces! I love the little oracle decks that are coming out via LS. Any others I should know about?

I'm not sure which type of style you like but have a look at Toni Carmine Salerno's work. Especially the "Spirit Oracle", it's a 54 guidance card.. works beautifully. It is my first oracle and still the most used one =) I heard good things on the other ones too... take a look !
