Pony Tarot

Nethilia

Here's the Empress. I don't know yet if I'm going to call it the Empress or the Dam.

I'm thinking of redoing the Devil. It's okay how it is--as a pony not realizing she can break her restraints--but I'm sure I could draw a really evil looking demonic pony if I took the time for it and that would have a lot more impact than mere chains.

Keep up the good work Nethilia. I've never seen anyone get cards up so fast :) At this rate it won't take long for you to finish..

Wow! These cards are so pretty. I love them. I feel so happy. absolutley adorable. Thank you for sharing them with us. I love the colors you chose for the Fool and my favorite so far is the Moon but I really like them all really. nice artwork. I would totally buy these, so what I like. Good for you. I can't wait to see more. Best wishes :)

I can't believe how fast you're turning out these cards! You must be really devoted. I like how you make it obvious in your picture what the card is so there are no words. One question, the moon, are the black and white towers supposed to be the ones in the original RWS on the High Priestess card?

OMG! Another pony fan! Love the cards, can't wait to see the rest.

Questions asked:

mike gorth: I wasn't really aiming for the towers like on the High Priestess (as you can see here, my own high priestess doesn't have opposing towers, but two trees.) I just wanted a duality, and I thought two obelisks were pretty and fit the mood of the card.

I've gotten three more cards done. One was a complete redraw--the Devil card wasn't as impactful as I thought is should be. I figured out what was wrong with the High Priestess and why it was not inking well/wanting to be inked; it wanted to be completely redrawn. So did the Devil. So here's three cards in one blow.

The High Priestess. I wanted this card to be almost the polar opposite of the Mage; muted colors, a sort of night feel. The blue sphere at her feet is an orb, like the ones around the Mage's horn.

The Lovers. I wanted them to float, so I made them Pegasi. They're the first pegasi in the majors, both in drawing and in order. I'll have a few more, probably, I'm thinking of putting one on the Judgement card. (Ignore the fact I can't draw roses very well...)

The Devil redone. I like this one better than the the original Devil; I kept the chained pony in, however.

I have three other cards sketched/inked, and may have them done later on.

WoW Nethilia,

Where did you get the inspiration for the Devil from - its perfect! I did like the other Devil card though, but this one is almost scarily cheeky - then theres that poor little pony tied to it - I have finally found 'compassion' in the Devil card!
I like the idea of calling the Emperess 'The Dam' - its different and it fits.
The Lovers are floating aren't they! The colours are good on this one too. Your roses look fine!
Does the pony in the 'Moon' card have a crystal ball? I like the unicorns -The Magician and the Moon - I like the concept there.

I think they're getting better, they're evolving! Do you think so too? Have you thought of adding to or redisigning any others? Are you happy with them so far?

Thanks for sahring them with us.

Blessings

I think they're beautiful! What an awesome project!
